Educator. Author. Motivational speaker. Faith-builder. Creative. Wife. Mom of three. And the big personality behind SincerelySedae.
My story is one of faith, resilience, growth, and learning how to keep becoming.
I grew up experiencing poverty and moved from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Charlotte, North Carolina, at 15 years old. The day after graduating high school, I became a mother at 18. Since then, I’ve walked through seasons that have stretched me, shaped me, and strengthened me... including navigating unhealthy and abusive relationships, motherhood, ministry, education, and the beautiful (and sometimes messy 😂) process of discovering who God created me to be.
Those experiences didn’t just become part of my story... they helped shape my calling.
For more than a decade, I’ve served in education and youth development with a heart for helping people grow academically, spiritually, emotionally, and personally. I hold a Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE) and specialize in creating biblically grounded, theologically sound faith-based content, along with resources centered on social-emotional learning (SEL), behavior management, character development, personal development, and spiritual growth.
I’m also an author and creator who firmly believes learning and discipleship do not have to be boring.
I’ve created children’s books, coloring books, journals, devotionals, educational resources, and personal and spiritual-growth books designed to help people understand themselves, navigate life, deepen their relationship with God, and become healthier versions of who He created them to be.
My heart for the next generation extends beyond the classroom. Through my nonprofit, Generation Genesis, I’ve worked to provide resources and opportunities that help youth and young adults discover who they are, develop the tools they need to thrive, and recognize that their circumstances do not have to determine their future.
And then there’s SincerelySedae. 😂
This is where faith meets real life—with a whole lot of personality, honesty, education, encouragement, vulnerability, and laughter along the way. I speak and create content about Jesus, family, personal growth, relationships, education, purpose, and sometimes whatever hilarious thought happens to cross my mind that day.
I’m bold about my faith in Jesus, and I believe in being pro-WHOLE life—valuing people, purpose, growth, healing, dignity, and God’s design for our lives throughout the entirety of life, not simply when it’s easy or convenient.
At the heart of everything I do is one mission: discipleship, connection, education, laughter, and ultimately pointing people back to Jesus.
Whether I’m teaching, speaking on a stage, writing a book, developing resources for children and educators, encouraging someone through social media, serving in ministry, creating content for Little DaeDreamers, or simply making somebody laugh, I want people to leave better than they came—and maybe a little more curious about Jesus.
When I’m not creating, teaching, speaking, writing, or joking around, you’ll usually find me doing life and ministry alongside my husband, Pastor Mike Slaughter, and raising our three amazing children. My faith, my family, and my calling are woven into everything I do.
My life has taught me that where you begin does not have to determine where you end—and you don’t have to lose your authenticity while becoming everything God has called you to be.
So around here, there are three things we don’t forget:
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.” — Matthew 5:13–16
Lighting Up the World—One Sincere Soul at a Time.
